Individual Design Project for LDT 7111: Design Thinking&Knowledge 

Project Origin

This project started with a recognition of the need for a better protocol model for recently diagnosed breast cancer patients. Due to constraints such as insurance, time and resources, breast cancer patients are forced to make make a potentially life-saving decision regarding a personal treatment plan without the opportunity to explore all options thoroughly.

Concept

A brief (two-hour) course taught by a Nurse Navigator experienced with cancer treatment options that will help patients and caregivers identify both potential issues and resources to help them make informed decisions regarding their treatment.

Product

The final product is a 5 module course design including content, learning activities and strategies, resources and assessments. the course is designed for a successful learning outcome allowing newly-diagnosed breast cancer patients and caregivers will have the knowledge required to make an informed decision regarding their Breast Cancer Treatment Plan
